The name "Tigers at Play" has an artistic reference - a painting by George Stubbs "Tygers at Play" which depicts two leopard cubs (at the time all big cats were referred to as tigers) playing in a naively painted landscape. It references the playfulness of the tigers, and speaks of discovery and little joys, and becomes a metaphor for children playing, for tenderness and fearless mischief.
